With seven dynamic departments—Communication Studies, Croatology (Croatian Culture), Demography and the Croatian Diaspora, History, Philosophy and Culturology, Psychology, and Sociology—the faculty focuses on the study of Croatian society, its diaspora, and its cultural and historical significance within European and global contexts.

How to Apply
Ready to take the next step? The Faculty of Croatian Studies welcomes applications from Croats living outside Croatia who meet the following requirements:
  • A certificate of affiliation with the Croatian people, issued by the Central State Office for Croats Abroad.
  • Completion of four years of high school (the last four years of at least 12 years of schooling).
  • Willingness to relocate to Zagreb and attend classes in Croatian.
Applications are accepted via the Central Application Office at www.postani-student.hr. Mark your calendars for these key deadlines:
  • First Deadline: July 1, 2025, by 11:59 PM CEST
  • Second Deadline: September 5, 2025, by 11:59 PM CEST
After applying, shortlisted candidates will participate in a discussion (via video call or in person) to evaluate their motivation and Croatian language skills. These sessions are scheduled for July 2–4, 2025 (first intake) or September 11–13, 2025 (second intake).
