Visit of Mr. Stjepan Asić, President of the Australian-Croatian Congress, to the Faculty of Croatian Studies

A prominent and highly respected Croatian political and social activist from Perth, Mr. Stjepan Asić, President of the Australian-Croatian Congress, visited the Faculty of Croatian Studies on December 2. For many years, Mr. Asić has been following and supporting the Faculty in achieving its mission and vision, particularly in areas related to the Croatian diaspora, the preservation of Croatian national identity, and the building of various connections with the Republic of Croatia.

In this context, he was presented with several collections of papers published by the Faculty, which address current issues such as emigration or lesser-researched topics, including crimes committed by Yugoslav communists during and after the World War II. In return, Mr. Asić made his extensive digital archive available to the Faculty’s professors and students. This archive represents an invaluable resource for studying the history of the Croatian community in Australia from World War II to the present day.
